 Frequently asked questions

Would it be necessary to also get a second opinion about the histopathology?

Yes, particularly under certain circumstances. Bear in mind that both the prognosis and the treatment depend entirely upon the diagnosis given by the pathologist, who interprets the sample obtained during the biopsy or cytology. Any relevant change to this interpretation may alter the development of your illness. It would be advisable to request a revision of the histopathology if:

  • You have an uncommon type of cancer.
  • You do not have a clear diagnosis and the histopathological report mentions some doubts.
  • You are diagnosed with a type of cancer that does not coincide with what your doctor would expect in your particular situation.
  • You have questions about the diagnosis you have received.
